Bad ass snakes brother!! I was wondering when you would get some pictures of those out for us to see. I can't wait to not only to see how develop but, to get my hands on the next round that Gerrit produces.
Hope you had a great New Year..lucky bastard and thanks again for sharing.
Tu amigo,
Nathan
"I can't wait to not only see how they develop but, to get my hands on the next round that Gerrit produces". LOL...sorry..guess I got excited and fumbled over my words when I finally got to see those beauties.
Nate

Gentilis/Multistrata integrade? Either way it's a beautiful animal Shannon...
Chris
Yes, its a Golden Colorado but its pure Gentilis. You have to go further north east (plains) to bit the intergrades like weld county etc... Golden is right at the foothills of the rockies.
I started this line in (96) and this is a f2 and I will produce f3s this year.
Thanks Shannon
Yeah actually thanks for starting it!!! I know the area -- from out there originally and just imagining the terrain -- GREAT FIND! Nonetheless, thanks for the correction -- I had the Weld integrade stuck in my mind and thought it was true for the Golden animals as well. Thanks again.
Chris
I never get tired of Golden, CO animals! The hobby owes you a big thanks for them, Shannon.

Thanks Cole. Don't know if you ever heard the story but here goes.
In (96) a good friend of mine collected a big gravid female in Golden (100 yeards from my Grandmas house btw LOL....)and she laid 9 eggs. They all hatched and there was 1.8 with the only male being really aberrant and almost hypo. I was lucky enough to get the only male and two of the females.
I grew them up and started breeding the trio in (00).I produced a couple clutches each year and sold off the trio plus a killer female hold back to Jeff in (03 if I remember correct). I know he has produced some killer babies as well from the group and I was lucky enough to get back a pair last year and they are ready to go now.
Its one of those projects I wish I would have never sold but at least they went to a Milk Head and have been kept safe
Anyway, here is a pic of one of the clutches I produced in (02).Crappy pic but you can see a couple red heads in there.
L8r Shannon
here is one of the females gravid.

head shot of my female.

here is my male.He is starting to really fade out and look more and more like his father.

L8r
Here's a very unusual yellow (hypo offspring) Golden CO and the sire to all the Goldens out there. His 2 sisters are the biggest fattest gentilis I've seen yet.
That red-capped female and odd patterned male you have Shannon are the most unusual hatchlings from this group so far - I get lots of partial red caps but none have been so solid red!!
That snake was a real pain to get feeding too.....
Jeff

Yeah, there is old dad.Is that yellow one I sent you or one produced? do you have a pic of the killer female f2 I sent you? and did she produce yet?
Thanks Shannon
That yellow hypo fem above is the youngster you provided. She dropped 2 clutches last year, one all normal and the second all (probably) hypo. There's a deep red one, almost brown from the first clutch.
As variable as these are color-wise, I've never seen a hint of a stripe or a wide white band, etc....just replicas of the parents.
Very cool little snakes, everybody absolutely loves these rascals.
Jeff
Very cool. I would love to see some of the hypo looking babies.
