Here's another pic of a southern China import I had for many years. I purchased this male from a friend of mine about 1990. He was a young adult when he acquired him in the mid eighties.

This was a rare treat to have one of these gems back then, as nobody bred them yet in captivity. The fact that it even thrived in captivity from the wild was pretty special in itself!, as they frequently perished within days of arriving into the states from heavy stress and intestinal parasites.

Very nice! I love the variation in pattern on these guys. My little male that was lost unfortunatly in a heater accident had almost no red in it.
