What makes a Woma ball a Woma?

Boredfoot Jan 04, 2008 05:07 AM

I'm just not seeing how a Woma ball python gets that morph name. I have a true Woma python--orange and cream colored, with stripes and black eyebrows. Woma balls don't look anything like an Australian Woma python.

Is the term Woma just a more general description for some degree of striping with a reduced pattern?

It's also odd to me that there's a ball python morph that takes the name of another python species. It's like saying, here's my Burmese ball morph or my reticulated ball morph.

Any thoughts about this? Not trying to start a riot, just trying to understand better.

I called it that due to the thin banding it can display instead of getting it confused with the many other banded, reduced, tiger, cryptic stuff out there.

Did you happen to notice that I also name some of my snakes after bugs and such?

How about a picture of one of the Lesser Pearls (aka Lesser Super Woma). Some of those DO look like Woma Pythons.

Do you have a photo of a lesser pearl? That would be cool to see. I'm not familiar with it.

Thanks!

You must be referring to those Bumble Bees I often covet.

Oh, but you're SATAN--that must be why I covet them so badly...

Now, that's a morph that really knocks a person over the head. No way to mistake that one!

Haha, now that would be funny. People might get confused though when I ask them if they want to come over and try my gb.

Woma as the name for a ball python is what you get when a drunken New England rock star/herper that makes a lot of morphs decides to name something new. Just look at half of the other names that the unnamed drunken New England rock star/herper has used for anything herp that he has created. Either that or it's the only understandable mumbling of a crazed-herp-morph-psychopath...
