My geckos have not eaten latley

kennyj620 Jan 05, 2008 11:24 AM

Hi, I have 2 leopard geckos in one of my tanks and when I tried feeding them last time, I put 12 crickets in the tank and only one of the geckos ate one, so I took most of the crickets out after a few hours and left a few in the tank incase they would get hungry. They havn't eaten much in the last 2 weeks and they seem to be more tired than usual. Is this unusual or normal?

I dunno if it's normal or not but my girl is doing the same thing. Temp in the tank is still 80 during the day but she's sleepy and not eating as much.

Hi all,

Unfortunately, my gecko is doing the same thing. It has literally been 1 month since she's eaten anything, and I'm very worried for her.

The tank is 85F in the day time and around 65-70F at night. I had been feeding her mealworms up to about a month ago. About 2 weeks ago she shed, not sure if that has anything to do with not feeding. Her tail is still full and doesn't seem to be thinning out much.

I did notice, however, that for the past two weeks she's had blood on her snout. Upon closer inspection, it looks like the tip of her snout is rubbed raw. The wound does not appear to be closing.

In regards to the feeding, does anyone know how long that ovulation period lasts? When can we expect the females to start eating again? About the snout, does anyone know why she might be rubbing it?

Thanks!

My male gecko has been eating this week, but the female has only eaten a few more crickets. Hopefully they will both return to their normal eating patterns.
