Question on leos behavior??

jack7777766 May 22, 2003 06:25 PM

Hey all,
I have a question for some reason every time I fill my leos water bowl he just spills the water out everywhere, I dont know how he does it but all the towel paper ends up wet. Does anyone know why he does this??? Should I do something different or try and stop him from doing this or is it normal??
Also sometimes he moves really slowly, like slow mo, kind of like a chameleon does. Is this normal, I dont think ive ever seen my female do this so Im curious, any input is appreciated??
Besides this hes eating and growing like a weed. So im not that concerned but I would still like to know whats going on.
Im also attachng a pic of his enclosure just in case.

Thanks
Jack

all i can say is, all leos have their own personality, some are rambunctious, and some are calm, and some are other stuff.

Some times they do that cautious slow moving one foot over the other things, while other times they bolt from one hide to the other.

Your water problem isn't a big problem other then the mess. Your leo may florcing him self under (or around a corner or somthing)the dish and causeing it to tip. OR you are spilling it by moving the tank. I find that water spills are usually caused by me :D

Yeah I know its not me because I put the water in after the tank is in place but maybe he is moving it around in some other way. I guess its just annoying and the humidity of course goes up, I see the side of the cage all moist and wet.
Anyways lets see if he grows out of it.
Thanks
Jack

geckos are curious animals. any new object placed in their cage will be investigated. a mark of intelligence. thus if they can move it they will. try giving him a toy. i have found toilet paper rolls to be a favorite, they are like the wheel to a rodent. also he way be trying to find a place to hide, but toilet paper rolls also fill the area too
