I was shoveling snow, dammit.....NOT!!! Here's some stuff from down south, sorry for the same old stuff, but it is what I have to work with! At least there is something new about this set, here are two indigos sharing the same space and food resources at the same time. I took some sorry photos, but it is hard to keep your eye on two at a time and they were quick! Here's the setup, same place, heard a splash, investigate to find one indy hunting leopard frogs from under a bank. Load splash, second indigo comes out from under bank to steal frog or warn the other away. Crappy shot of indy swallowing frog, basking and leaving to go back to den site. I could not tell whether this was a pair or two females, I doubt it was two males. One was maybe three or four inches longer than the other. "Tiny" got the frog! I was 6' from the larger one as it basked for 45 minutes. Tiny only basked for 20 minutes before heading in. Also flipped 2 checkered garters, one with food bolus, probably Gulf coast toad)s), 1 Texas spotted whiptail, 1 ground skink, several Gulf coast toads, 1 western narrowmouth frog/toad, and a Med geck. Seen many Rio Grande leopard frogs but surprisingly, no turtles. A good day! Dammit, forgot to download again, see part deaux!
