Humidity vs Bacetria

rottenweiler9 Jan 06, 2008 03:54 PM

How does everyone keep their humidity up with out causing bacteria in their cages?

I recently found out that bacteria is the main cause of RI and do not want my Emerald to get it. I use to mist twice a day but now I am worried. Humidity without misting is about 50-60%.

Thank you

Jeff

If your talking about mold just clean the cage at leat once a month, and at least 2 times a year take it and totally clean it with a bleach solution and you shouldnt get any mold or fungus but if you do just clean the entire cage with a bleach solutin, but you shouldnt have much of a problem.

Bacteria are everywhere, all the time. It is normal, and snakes to live with them.

Just make sure your ventilation is enough, and that you clean the cage well, changing water at least twice a week, removing feces as soon as you see it and you should have no problem.
