Here's one of a pair I got almost 20 years ago,...not real overly impressive, but she's okay.....

This(believe it or not) is her sibling. It was one of many neonates in a huge pile I had to choose, only this dude looked a little different from the others, so I "cherry-picked" him too.
Turns out later as he grew, he kept getting more and more impressive looking with the orange(as most do), without the slightest hint of any white at all. As he grew, I could see this dude was definitely something special as opposed to most.
Apparently this animal was what is now known as a "Sun glow" that just randomly appeared from a medeocre looking clutch, and was not selectively bred on purpose as is commonly done today.
It's cool to look back and think that the term "Sun glow" hadn't even been thought of yet!
He was a true "HULK" of a snake too!

....animals. Maybe I am just a little bit corny (no pun intended but I laughed after I typed it) but I have a hard time calling any of them "every day". Keep posting...I love the pics.
Rob
Thanks a bunch Rob!.....I hear ya!

Dang! The first thing that came to mind when I saw the pic was "sunglow." But I don't reckon they called them that at the time.
Dude, you're like "ahead of your time!" Nice pics - even the "normal" amel.
Tim
Thanks Tim!,....I know you and some others could truly appreciate that post!
I'm embarrased to say this,....but that male dissapeared one day when I had him out in my back yard. I noticed he was VERY swelled towards his cloaca while changing the water in his bowl one day, and that he would be defecating any minute. So I took him out in the back yard by the swimming pool to casually crawl around and poop as I had done many times before with him, as he was totally layed back and would NOT DREAM of trying to escape. Well while letting him do this, I went ahead and cleaned some leaves from the pool,.....then I got a phone call and ran into the house.
Several hours later I went into my "snake" room to do something, and noticed the lid was off his cage, and that I totally forgot about him in the back yard!!!!!.......by this time it was dark, and I was FRANTICALLY trying to search everywhere for him,......as much as I didn't want to think about the reality of what happened, I soon came to grips that searching any longer would be a lost cause. My yard and the others nearby were just too dense with foliage, and other nice hiding places for him to go.........
I was really bummed for quite a while after that loss.
It just goes to show, ....no matter who you are, or how close you usually pay attention to things,........you can STILL get "side-tracked" by something, somewhere at ANY TIME!..LOL
Tim, as another long-time breeder/owner with many animals,..I bet you can truly relate to this stupid story!..LOL
thanks again!

ALRIGHT NOW!
This is not fair, I look at the first and use up all my mental adjectives. Then I look at pic #2 and hurt my brain!
Both are,, they are,, so,, SEE, dang it I'm at a lose for words. Ask Timbo, he knows that has never happen before!
As far as stupid stories. That could be a whole category if we were all honest! lol
I had my entire thumb in the mouth of a 5'6" water monitor at 15 years of age. If that stupid?

Thanks for reading.

LOL!,........How very true!......anyone that has had snakes for many decades, or even just a SHORT while, has done some things, or forgot to do some things that have ended up in disaster!..LOL
I won't bother divulging any more stupid stories right NOW, as I have many that have happened over the course of forty years of snake keeping,.....especially before some others are posted!, that way I won't feel quite as stupid!..LOL
