I was reading your posts below so I thought I would play along
The following picture (of a nice little wild caught Alabama female) was takem with my little Nikon CoolPix 7600 (7.5 mega pixel) kind of slow shutter speed but a decent little low price camera.

yeah, I have way too many "hand" shots.
It's the only way I can get the little monsters to be still long enough for a photo....lol

I have toyed around with working with a group of them for years. Since I seem to be getting pulled back to colubrids now may be the time. They have such a subtle (yet, in this case, stunning) beauty about them. Not to get too far off topic but how do they compare to corns in terms of temprament, husbandry, etc. I assume they are pretty similar but, as I said, I have never kept them before.

Rob

BTW - the other pic is awesome, too.

Rob,
I always recommend Bairdis to anyone who will listen.
They are GREAT snakes. They are obviously beautiful.
They require the same basic care. They have great feeding responses. They tend to be a touch more nervous when young (seem to musk more then corns)
But they tame out just as well as corns. At least mine have.
They are a little more active then corns so make great display animals.
I honestly can't find anything negative to say about them.
and to keep this on topic I will post a corn shot or two.
and sneak in another bairdi shot...shhh

I have to agree with Jimmy and JT - Bairdi are sweet.
My boy is more active than my creamsicle and easy to please.
He likes to soak in a lage waterbowl more.

I really like the subtle yellows, oranges and salmon colors under the metallic sheen - he looks like burnished high carbon steel and enamel.

If I were to get back into breeding again, I would have to get a female for him.
