het albino marker with motleys?? (eyes)

midnightherps Jan 07, 2008 07:07 PM

Do any of you have some good insight about the notion that it may be possible to tell if a motley is het albino by the eye color? Ive heard something to the effect that a het albino motley tends to portray a lighter [stripe] of color in the superior portion of the eye. Is this the truth?

I have a pair of motleys 66% phAlb. Im curious to see if my odds are good.
THanks
Brendan Saffron

I cant remember who started it but it was on this forum. This is basically what they are talking about.

if you see the top of the snakes eyes and its white like that I believe the term lightbulb was used it has a high chance of being het for albino. The snake in the picture is in fact het albino so I dont need to go by that :D

same with this one

thanks Dave. Thats the article I was hoping someone would post eventualy.
Hows that pastel salmon male doing? I regret letting him go but you know how it goes. You should see the one female I kept from him this year. Shes smokin. Even nicer than him. Very very clean (pastel) and pink from head to toe. The only salmon in the whole litter that has a clear belly (pink but no pattern or black at all). And her eyes are sick.
Im at school right now but Ill send you a pic of her soon.

np, just took a little searching.

I named him Tahoe and he's out on breeding loan. I ended up with extra males this year and a friend had a monster normal female looking for a boyfriend so... I'll end up with an extra half a litter if he does his job right.
