Congrats! Sonorans are bluffers and big hissers. Rarely bite though. I've never been bitten by any of mine, but have been struck at. I guess that guy didn't bluff, lol.

Once he gets settled in just watch his actions, odds are it is just bluff. I used to have two Sonorans, brother and sister, that would rear up and hiss loudly, I'd just pick them up and they'd stop or they would keep hissing while crawling through my hands.

Awesome pick-up. My Hypo Sonoran male hisses every time you come in the snake room, but as Chris said, just pick him up and all of the huffing and puffing stops. They are very cool snakes and I wish you luck with yours.

You know you're getting old when you make more noise getting up off the couch than you do during sex.

im very happy with my purchase...Colette always answered any questions i had. Im going to give him a week to get settled in before feeding or handling him again....actually he is quite calm in is container. he only hissed once!!!! but we were face to face! Im gald i made the move from balls to these boas. I dont want to stick to one bloodline of these wonderful snakes...who besides snakekeeper and cuttingedge herps breeds these? Im also thinking about getting into hypo nics. Im in love with these little boas! Thanks for all your help on here! Mike

Gus Rentfro and Tom Burke are also working with them. Don't know if they'll have anything though. The Sutherlands and Vin are the only people I know of with Hypo Sonorans for sale right now.

As for the Hypo Nics: Vin Russo, Tom Burke, DM Exotics, and the Sutherlands all have some excellent PURE ones.
