A rescue, a pearl and whitewalls.......

rainbowsrus Jan 08, 2008 03:48 PM

Less than 20 pics this time... I must be slipping!!

First up is Savannah, just shed and some of you may remember she came to me all crusty with retained eyecaps etc. Proper care and envinronment and several sheds later out popped this jewel. Now it's several years later and still going strong!!!

Next in line is Oyster, one of my pearls!! No additional intro necessary!!

And last is Rose, I went in the snake room and found her perched on the waterbowl and showing off some intense whitewalls, much whiter than the pics show!!

Thanks for looking!!!!

the whole pearl this is really nice, but man Oyster has some really nice coloring!!! i think so at least

so how about rose and her whitewalls, i really really like that. is that a gene trait do you know, or dose that just randomly show up like having some snakes are lighter on the sides than others?

They all make me drool, every time I open their tubs!!! Ah well, at least all the pearls are spit shined dailey!!!

Whitewalls always come out at night and yeah, some show it more than others and even show differently depending on circumstances. Just have not payed enough attention to know why/when other than at night.

That pair of pics are a fantastic example! I wonder why they do that at night? Sometimes Vermillion will do it during the day, but only her.

Good question. I would speculate they do it at night because during daylight they'd be more visible, thereby blowing their camouflage. (Just a wild guess.) But I'm also wondering why they do it at all? Thermoregulation?

Thanks,
Ed

That is a neat change, I am guessing its subtle in nature but through human selective breeding the change is more vibrant and therefore more noticeable. But I do wonder why this change even exists and what it looks like and roles that is plays in nature, a wild BRB.

Good stuff thanks for posting Dave!

Dave,
You've got so many gorgeous BRB's, but that rescue boa Savannah has still got to be my favorite (though I still want more pics of that Fred to see how he's coming along).
Then again there is Daisey....
Thanks for sharing.
Paul

Dave,

Great job with the rescue, it's always nice to see a successful outcome! To top it off, she is beautiful.

The others ain't half bad either...

Thanks,
Ed
