If your leopard is in a cage by herself you may not have to hand feed her. You could just put the crickets in the cage with her and watch to see that she is eating them. Just because her tail is regrowing wouldn't mean that you'd have to hand feed her. She will still have the natural instinct to eat, maybe even more so because she knows that her body has been depleted of its' fat stores. She has been stressed enough in the process of losing her tail, you wouldn't want to further stress her out by forcing her to eat, they will do it on their own.

Good Luck

You do not what to use your hands to directly hold the food for any gecko, much like any reptile in general. They can and will see hands as food then.

Tongs are great, if you can't get/afford tongs Chinese takeout chopsticks are just fine. It is easiest if you can get a hold of female crickets as they have an egg depositor which looks like and extra long antenna out of their back end, makes it really easy to hold onto if you are feeding that age of crickets.

Good luck.
