Another Honduran Genetics Question

antr1 Jan 08, 2008 10:53 PM

I hope this doesn't start a big to do, BUT I see near patterless or patternless Hondurans and am curious if any one has been able to bred a patternless to patternless yet, and if so how much is past on to the off spring.

I know some of my pairings produce more vanishing patterns then others, (none patternless) but is the lack of pattern just a random occurrence?

I know I am expecting some nice babies from this female

Well, those types of pattern/patternless breedings you mentioned if bred to each other, DO increase the odds of duplicating similar looking offspring, but are still not fully predictable, and you could also get some surprises thrown in there as well.

Shores .. he's hoarding patternless hypos!!!

I don't think that it has been tested with 2 adults yet but in the next year or 2 lookout!

From what I understand that pairing would improve your chances of producing more of the same but not guarantee it. I would expect that you should get all pinstripes at least. With some refining I'm sure the right combination could produce them every time ..

This one comes from Rodney Jtineant's line - the same pairing that this is from has produced an almost perfectly patternless hypo. She's 66% het hypo.

Thats not a hypo? Very nice. The one I posted is from Don, it's a sibling to one of his patternless. I also have a pair of half siblings.

I did email him before posting that and he told me this would be his first year ot patternless or near patternless to the same. Just curious if someone else has done it.
