It's good to have friends!

viborero Jan 09, 2008 08:59 AM

A couple friends of mine did a trade, and one received a trio of thayeri. Well, he didn't need the male, so he gave him to me! I just cut back my collection and I need an unpaired random male snake like I need another hole in my head, but I just couldn't pass this good looking guy up!

I don't have much experience with thayeri, but I swear this guy looks like a cross between knoblochi and alterna. Do the milksnake phase thayeri have other blood mixed in them?

Ha. I also picked up a Mexican Hognose and this Payson, AZ Pyro from my other buddy:

He couldn't sell them since they are native animals, so he gifted them to me. Not the best looking guy, but I love Pyros.

...There's just something about the way his head looks that gives me a gut feeling.

Looks like a pyro in the haystack. Cheers

I can't see your pic because my computer at work stinks...but if you question is in general do milksnake phase thayeri have something else in them the answer would be no.

They are naturally occuring and very varied. Pairing two of either form, Leonis or Milksnake, can result in babies of either form. Even babies of the same form will vary.

Look how different these 2 Milksnake Phase are from each other.

No doubt about that one being a cross... My guess would be MexMex crossed with Ruthveni... Of course that's just a guess..

Hey Diego, how your light gray Alterna phase gray banded king doing??

I would say knoblocki x thayeri or mex mex.

antelope Jan 09, 2008 07:22 PM

I agree with Shannon, looks like a little mexmex in there.

I thought some pyro influence as well

viborero Jan 10, 2008 07:43 AM

He's doing well, Mike. I ended up trading him to my same buddy for some Pituophis. I still get to see him, though, and he's growing like a weed!

How about a belly shot for us?...in any case, somethin' crossed the "fence" there!..LOL

Here is a "real" milksnake phase thayeri from MANY years ago,BEFORE they were "screwed" with by everyone and their brother like today!

Thanks Todd!,....that is so VERY true!

Remember the day when a slightly "peachy" colored one was thought to be MIND-BLOWING?
