Gerrit,
Maybe you forgot the thread below, New game, but the way this works is you post the locality of the animals you posted. As it stands you have confirmed the gentilis looking triangulum are multistrata from South Dakota, but what county?
And one of the taylori looking lampropeltis is a Zonata from madera county?

I think I've seen pics of that last one before. Maybe on FHF? Anywhoo - they're sharp looking animals. Thanks for posting them.

-Cole

Nathan Wells Jan 09, 2008 06:13 PM

Yeah, Robert probably posted them. We found those two and two other yearlings in about 30 minutes of flipping tin and dead logs. They can be really thick in some areas.

Patton Jan 09, 2008 06:33 PM

I'm really surprised that they aren't more readily available in the hobby. Wow! That must have been a rush!

Phil,
Get in touch before you head up. We'd love to meet up with you.

-Cole

terryd Jan 09, 2008 09:07 PM

Yeah Phil,
Ditto what Cole said.
Get us some dates to work w/ and we'll take care of the habitat to hunt. You'll have to work hard for the milks here, but you have picked a pretty good time slot of May/April. The first week to ten days of June can be good too.

-Dell

My son Magnus w/ a Stillwater co. multistrata.

Hey Put that rock back!!!!! looks like the dog is the real hunter.LOL...

terryd Jan 10, 2008 12:32 PM

Shannon,
Belive you me, that rock was put back. It get's turned over on every trip out there now.

The dogs name is Bob, and he is murder on the mice that get turned up on a herp trip.
He is very good to the herps though, he has never tried to bite a herp. Well he did snap up a toad once, dropped it, snapped it up again, dropped it, snapped it up one more time dropped it, and was foaming at the mouth for ten minutes. Pretty funny. The toad was fine.
Bob chased a bear out of some cat tails last summer fishing w/ Cole & Ryan, and then chased it over a hillside. It took us about two hours to find him.
Cole kept saying, and I quote here, "Bobs a dick". We were all pretty mad at Bob that day.

-Dell

Sunherp Jan 10, 2008 01:43 PM

Bob IS a dick! That little fuzz-butt had us worried sick! We thought he'd been eaten by that big black bear!

-Cole

Nathan Wells Jan 10, 2008 02:12 PM

freakin' funny story! Although I imagine it was a bit nerve racking at that moment, it sure makes for a good story afterwards. Man I would have paid money to see that unfold.
Nathan

terryd Jan 10, 2008 05:47 PM

Nathan I can't tell you how worried/angry=stressed out I was. The cat tails were like eight feet tall, no joke. The grass was four or five feet tall, and Bob is about as tall as a duck.
For the most part he never barks, he was barking at the bear for a while which is why we went looking for him, because he never barks. After the bear came busting out of the cat tails w/ Bob right on his arse we never heard him bark again.
I was worried Bob had become an appetizer. But we found him, or he found us I'm still not sure.

The funniest part of the whole ordeal was Cole calling Bob a dick, and telling me "do you know how much poison ivy we walked through Dell? We are all going to have poison ivy rashes, Bob your a dick."

Here is our ever intrepid Bob, w/ a Horned lizard on his back.
