Hey Ian, and everyone else, I have an update:

The blessed (and cursed) day has arrived! My Odin (Columbian boa) just gave birth this afternoon to a litter of about 23, including one slug and a sadly two-headed (split skull) baby, which died earlier this evening.
The babies are adorable, the goo is everywhere, and the mother, having been HUNGRY, has now been fed....and is looking for more food.
Odin is the first of our two pregnant females who were bred by our IBD-infected male to deliver. Freya will be due on or about the end of the month. I have an appointment with the vet tomorrow to put Odin and her babies down.
It's been a manic-depressive day.
