jime Jan 11, 2008 08:00 PM

Is there a difference between a Lesser and the Butter? If so, how are the Butters generated? Thanks...Jim

Yes-Butters are their own morph, but are placed within the "Platinum complex" because when crossed with a lesser, Mojave or another Butter they produce a blue eyed leucistic "super" form.

Since they are a morph in and of themselves, you can't "make" one, except by breeding from another Butter.

A lesser comes from Ralph Davis line. If it isn't an animal sired from Ralphs platty lineage it can't be called a lesser.

Lessers and Butters might be the same animal but if it isn't from platt it can't be called a lesser.
