Scabs, loss of digits, etc

goldwolfpup Jan 11, 2008 09:18 PM

Heya. First off, this is not my bearded dragon. Belongs to a friend, and I'm trying my best to find out what's wrong, and how to stop it.

The beardy's displayed typical behavior, etcetera. Problems are external as far as I've found, and she's losing digits, and is encrusted in both what looks to be scabs, and scaly growth. I'll upload pictures as soon as I can. Been googling and haven't found any information on this yet. Thank you very much in advance for any replies.

My email is jagwire789@gmail.com

Scabs and loss of digits indicates injury to the feet and toes. Without more details about how this dragon is housed, impossible to know what is happening. Common causes of feet/toe injuries are:

bites from cage mates
improper substrates or cages
abrasive substrates or cage furniture
bad skin sheds
crickets left in cage over night or longer.
self mutilation

There are probably more but those are the most common.
