...king python? I read a couple articles from Europe where they talked about a king python, but never discussed it, or showed any pictures. Does anyone know what they are refering to? I'm just curious cause I've never heard any called that before.

What we call a Ball Python is known as a Royal Python in most of the world. I've never heard it before either, but a quick search turns up at least one reference to King's Python as another (not so) common name.

well, I was thinking it might be a ball python, since in many areas, especially Europe, they are mostly refered to as royal pythons, and "royal" and "king" are somewhat similar, but when I searched it in google all I came up with were links to a few articles that mentioned king python, and none described length, origins, or had a picture.

Since regius is derived from the latin word for King (or Royal) it makes sense that this translation would show up now and then.
