Average crested weights?

olstyn Jan 12, 2008 03:45 AM

When I was cleaning my crested's terrarium tonight, I stuck her on a gram scale (which, amazingly, she mostly sat still for - granted, she was in a sterilite plastic box at the time, but still...). She came in at about 50 grams (scale's accurate to or - 1 gram, and she *mostly* sat still), and I always think she looks a bit on the chubby side. What weights are you guys used to seeing your adults at?

*sigh* Why does this forum remove a "plus" symbol from posts? That was supposed to say "plus or minus 1 gram." Just one more reason it would be really nice for us to have an edit function around here, like *every* other message board I've ever posted on.

that's a great weight for a girl.
supposedly can get up to about 65 g's.
my biggest girl is 40plus, but she's recently laid eggs.

my biggest female crested is 56 ish, all of my others are above 40 grams at adult size. i have started not breeding them untill they reach 40 grams empty, as they recover from the season (put weight back on) much quicker and seem to have better hatch rates.

hope this helps!
