There has been contraversy about spurs being the deciding factor heres what they look like, so you can judge for yourself.

that you can tell the sex by how long or short the spurs are, and has anyone done a probe and compaired the spurs and been accurate. His are short and stubby. Will scan tonight to see if there are any folicles or potentail female things to tell of.

Just don't know if spurs is an acuate way of determining sex.

Males do have longer spurs. It's not a controversy. It's a fact. Males definitely have larger spurs than females. And they use them in breeding. Did you see the earlier post? However, relative spur size does vary between subspecies and localities, as does head shape and other morphological characteristics.
The thing is, your snake is a mixed blood, in my opinion. So, who knows what normal male -vs- female spur size should be.
From the photo, the tail looks male-ish, but the spurs look kinda small. I give up. I'll go back to the entire snake photo to get a better idea.

Based on the original photo of the entire boa, I'd say it is a male boa [with small spurs]. He looks mature, but possibly not.
That could account for the small spurs.

Now, I'm not so sure. Maybe it's just a well fed female with a long tail.

The more I think about it, the more I think it is a female.
Forgot to take the 3 year old, 7 feet long details into account. She's a very healthy snake.
Tail length does vary among subspecies and locals, as well.
Belay my last (the "it's a male" thing). I misspoke. I was wrong. I take it all back. Please forgive me.
