Hi guys,
Our adult male beardie has some strange spots on his side/belly. One is located pretty much right under his armpit, and looks mostly like there's something dark under his scales (sort of like what a blood blister would look like on you or I, except that it's not puffed out or hard, it's just discolored). Another is about an inch and a half further down his side, and looks about the same but the scales feel very stiff. He currently lives in a 40breeder, with play sand as a substrate. He has one of those big half-logs as a hide that he spends his nights in. He's got one basking light and one UVB light. His basking spot stays around 100, the rest is ambient/room temp. The top of his tank is open, so there's no mesh screen for UVB to fight through or anything. I don't think there's any way that it could be an insect bite as we feed him primarily super worms, and he eats those in front of us outside of his tank. He also eats green beans, squash, greens, etc. with calcium spray on them.
One thing I should definitely mention is that he's in shed, and he looks to me as though this will probably clear up with a shed... but you can never be too cautious. Neither of the spots seem to be painful or bother him.
If someone could give us some tips on whether you've seen something like this before or whether we have cause to be too concerned, that would be fantastic. Thanks!
