Can I use dead dried Cholla in my cage?

nascrgurl Jan 13, 2008 07:09 PM

I am in Arizona where there is ALOT of dead cholla out in the desert. Well I came across a few nice size peices and I would like to put them in my cage with my beardies. My question is .... Do I have to do anything special to them before I put them in there? I did find them out deep in the desert so I am pretty positive they dont have any pesticides or anything on them. But I did hear something about "baking" them before I can put them in the cage. The only prep I did to them is to shake them out for loose dirt or bugs, power washed them and sat them out on the sun for a few days to dry out.
Please give me any feedback you can. It will be much appreciated!

Thanks!
Julie
