egg incubation temps

myotismn Jan 13, 2008 11:19 PM

My bearded dragon laid eggs tonight. I thought she might be gravid but wasn't expecting them so soon. I have read that 81-85 degrees is an optimal temp for incubation, but my apartment is usually around 72-75 degrees and I do not have an incubator. This is my first time with beardies but I have sucessfully hatched various snake eggs at room temp, it just takes longer. Are beardie eggs the same way or do I need to find a way to get them at a higher temp?

I can't say from personal experience, but, I have heard that they will hatch eventually at that temp., if the humidity is right and a little luck.

Thanks for the info. Did you keep them in a dark closet or what location?
