Gavin,
This is an open discussion forum... but not that open.... It's going to depend on the persons preference. When I do my shows I present each animal by saying that it's my favorite, some kids get, it some don't. I liken this to when kids ask me if something bites - if it has a mouth, it bites... On kingsnake everything is our favorite.
Are you looking to get a pet and would like suggestions on what would be good for beginers?

And then there's the factor of each person's interpretation of "best."
Best, as in:
- ease of care
- financial investment
- handleable
- attention-getter
- etc......
