Ratsnake x Boa

luvherps Jan 14, 2008 10:28 AM

Can it be done? So far I have only seen python x python crosses, but what about different species? What if they where the same size?

Ratsnakes and boas are from two different scientific families of snakes which makes hybridization unlikely. The hybrids that have been produced in the reptile trade are all between different species and different genera within the same family,( to my knowledge anyway). Kingsnake and cornsnakes, for example.

but why would you want to cross the two snakes...? what if you get a bunch of headless, or some nasty looking mutants??...
