Color in ASF

blueselaphe Jan 14, 2008 10:53 AM

Alrighty, I just had some ASF rat pup this weekend, 17 total so far, (but I have a girl who looks HUGE!) there are 2 that are a lighter color than all the rest, more of a tan color. This is only my second litter from any of my ASF rats (I just removed all the males so production will pick up when the girls are ready again) and the first litter had all normal babies. I have no clue as to who was sleepin with who as Ijust learned to tell the difference in the sexes and that they need to be seperated. It was debauchery in there.... But I digress, I have 2 tan babies and I think they are the albino form, my wife thinks they are hypo at best but most likly light normals.... There is a formal bet and if I am wrong I will have "dish-pan hands" for a month.
Thanks,
Blue

It's a red-eye dilute form, not a true albino. Very common.

Yea, I went to the ASF forum after I posted this. I think I read a post you left about the same thing. I don't think either of us should win the bet though..
Thanks,
