I have a hard time identifying a moonglow boa from a snow boa. I understand completely the genetics of the two, but visually it is hard to notice the hypo in the moonglow. Anything in particular to help distinguish?
Thanks,
Mat

Besides the pink hues in skin and eyes in the moonglow and the more lavender look of the normal snow.... the normal snow would be an anery inside the albino so the saddles are more square shaped....The Hypo trait inside the boa makes the Butterfly type saddles or a pinched saddle look.....So check them out and you should see the difference.

Personally I don't find it tough at all. Maybe it is just the pictures you are looking at.
The Hypo pattern is easy to spot. Cleaner base between the saddles.
I think it is a neat example of what the Hypo morph does when there's no color left to mess with.

Mat,
Hello. From a pic it is kinda hard to tell. However, in person it is very easy to tell the difference between a Moonglow vs Snow. The Moonglow is cleaner and has bow-tie saddles. Also, Andy did a good job pointing out the other differences.
Look at all the snakes in this pic. They all look different right? Which is the Moonglow?
If you guessed the boa in the back right, you are right! Notice how much cleaner he is along with the color tone.
Hope this helps!
Later,
Robert
