Het Anery Indicators

shedthegear Jan 14, 2008 12:24 PM

I know there have been some posts on this but I couldn't find them.

I have a few baby Sunglows from a Sunglow x Triple Het Moonglow, making them all 50% Het Anery.

Any ideas on how I can make the best guess as to which one (if either) are also het Anery?

Thanks.

Myself and a couple others agreed that sometimes het anerys will have more of a yellowish base to the overall color. SOmetimes you will notice it in hypos more. beyond that not really. Good luck with them though :D

You know, I never read that post, but having read this one... I think I know what you are talking about. My first litter was a normal female to an anery male, and only one of the premature litter survived ( I was crushed of course!) but the one that lived looks like he has jaundice (sp?) LOL! Seriously, the most drab colored tail and this sickly yellow base color. Although I describe it as a 'sickly' yellow, it is really quite pretty... I was hoping it would be genetic if he ever gets bred back to mom. I can't capture it well in images, but I've tried and posted them before anyway...
Is this like the yellow cast you were describing?

actually with him havingthat light coloration I bet you can make some nice anerys if its genetic. they will yellow/brown up a little as most anerys but should make some killer babies.

Hmmmm. I can see the yellowish indicator being useful with normals and maybe hypos. But what about the sunglows? Neither of the 2 sunglows look 'yellow' at all.

I've heard some say that there might be indicators in the eyes. But not sure what to look for.

I saw this pic awhile back and stole it cuz it was drop dead gorgeous. Do you have any pics of the parents or info on this one? thanks
Bob
