Names with faces...

Sunherp Jan 15, 2008 09:14 AM

Now that we've seen Doug, I figured maybe it would be nice for everyone to put names with faces. We're sort of a community, and it wouldn't hurt to know who you're talking to on the forum. I know we've done similar posts before, but a regular update can't hurt!

Holy Smokes!,.........this "BEER" trait is expressed phenotypically in ALL of our photos so far!..........this seems to not be a locality trait, as it is "expressed" throughout the range of North America, as well as Europe(burnsy's case)LOL!!!!

Shannon,....that IS funny dude!..LOL.....I certainly recognize those faces,......and chatted a bit with "Nocturnal Tom" at this past Daytona show at the same bar!....................AGAIN!..we
have the beer thing goin'!...too funny!........how else could we all talk snakes for hours on end?.right?........certainly can't talk about them with folks from the general public. They just look at me and say,.....oh, really?, and that's about the end of it!

I guarantee we can ALL relate to that one!..LOL

ps,....I definitely WOULDN'T want to drive that "Budweiser" car to Daytona!..hahhhahaahaha!

Shannon,

never post this pic again, I really look fat on that one. I raised around 10 pounds during the trip, but lost it, when I got back home and stoped the burgers.

I do not wonder anymore now, why the US has the most heavy weight people in the world LOL....

Probably 1 pound was done by the beer....

Sunherp Jan 17, 2008 10:24 AM

Bob's a dick.

-Cole

Nathan Wells Jan 17, 2008 02:03 PM

I am sure that, other than him being a dick when scurrying up a bear, he is a relatively cool dog. I did, however meet one of Bob's evil relatives this morning at my office that would make any other Jack Russell look like a saint. For those that don't know, I have been a veterinary technician for 12 years now and work at a local hospital in my hometown. I bring this new client into the room and she places her female Jack Russell terrier on the exam room table. We turn the dog around to get a rectal temperature before I am to get blood for a heartworm test. As soon as the thermometer barely touches this dog's ass, she comes unglued, turning into a holy terror. In an instant, piss, crap and anal glands are flying through the air in every direction. And without any notice the dog quickly turns around and sinks her teeth into my neck before I even had a chance to react. And believe you me, with field collecting and maintaining hot snakes for years, you naturally develop quick reflexes. The little bastard was faster than any venomous snake I had ever come across. So in a nut shell, I grab the dog by the throat and (gently...LOL) lay the dog down on the table. The funny thing was is that my facial expressions did not change during this 2 or 3 second ordeal. With the owner screaming, and me holding her dog down and bleeding from my neck, I smile and simply tell her..."your dog isn't very nice." The look on that lady's face was priceless.
So Bob....your not that much of a dick no matter what Cole says..
Nathan

terryd Jan 17, 2008 03:00 PM

That happened today?
That's a funny story Nathan. I liked it. I bet you see some crazy stuff in your line of work.

Bob would never do that, he is a people person.
He may even like having his temperature taken that way.
No only kidding.

Now Cole on the other hand!

-Dell

Nathan Wells Jan 17, 2008 03:08 PM

Yes sir, happened this morning...most Jack Russells that come in are pretty cool dogs, full of energy and always happy. This one on the other hand was a little turd.

sballard Jan 17, 2008 10:22 PM

Nathan, as traumatic as this must have been and as bad as I feel for you having to have gone through this, I have to be honest with you man.............I'm wiping tears right now

Hope that little monster didn't hurt you too bad, and that the lady's bill reflects her dog's temperament. Man, what a day!!

Scott

Nathan Wells Jan 17, 2008 07:18 PM

Thanks Dell, yeah, the sticks are more for decor than anything else. My wife likes to add accessories to everything she comes across..LOL. The snake room at one time had an Asian theme to it...and eventually has merged into the "old World" look.
We recently built a new house and I told her NO adding accessories to THIS room...that there were other rooms she could do whatever she wanted to with!!....This one is mine!!LOL.

Dniles Jan 18, 2008 09:17 PM

not too sure about that first shot. I don't know whether to laugh or reconsider any herping with the guy later this year...LOL. Just kidding Cole, just keep the stripper pole home if we meet up in Kansas..

Oh... damn! I think I'm ashamed of myself right now. I need a beer. All I can even say is to look at the beer-pong game set up behind me! Damn Ryan and his keg-erator!

I think I hate you, Ryan. Wow! I wish your wife would have never let you put that damn thing in! I don't even know what else to say...

Haha, here's a bad self portrait of me today out in the field, no one will herp with me cause they are wusses! Maybe my mug is just too ugly! I didn't find any milks today, but flipped two Texas rats under the same board, an adult male and a juvie, the male has been found there a month earlier, two Gulf coast ribbon snakes, one under plexiglass and one under the last piece of tin left on my site, dang scrapers!, one Gulf coast toad, a ground skink, and a Carolina anole, all under cover.
