I've noticed a lot of whitesided yellow rats, ghost glades, whatever you want to call them have a good bit of yellowish coloration bleeding down into the white lateral areas. Is this because they haven't been selectively bred as much as some of the licorice black rats with clean white sides, or does it have more to do with the natural suffusion of yellow they get as they mature? It'd be my guess that it's got more to do with selective breeding since I've seen some white sided black rats with a lot of dark lateral scales as well as those with lateral scales as clean as a leucistic snake. Thanks in advance for any answers.
