Hog Advice

Dlstockton21 Jan 16, 2008 08:03 AM

I have a red het hognose that I bought and it is not feeding, temps are right and all my other hogs are feeding great.

I received him in the cold season, so that could be the reason, but he has not eaten in about a 1 month and 15 days.....his weight seems to be OK, he is living in a very small tank(the one the breeder kept him in).

I was wondering if anyone had any advice for me to get him to eat........ as I know they do go off feed this is pretty much my first experience with it since all my other hogs have not did that yet. Plus it was not my intention of burmating this four month old snake I would like him to grow his first year.... I have tried live,FT and brained FT pinks with no luck.....he was supposably eating FT pinks when I received him so I should be able to stay away from scenting, or I would hope so.

Any suggestions?

Best,
Derek

If you resorted to scenting it could push things back in the long run. it is young so i agree i'd be hesitant about brumating. Just keep trying what you've been doing. Good luck.
