I'm leaning towards Vision, but the heat cable is a concern. What do y'all think?
Thanks,
Kevin

I liek the heat cable. I have a friend that now has a room full of vision racks. But everyone is going to say what they like best. It depends if it suits your collection and the weather in your area. With Visions you can increase the amount of heat per shelf just by rerunning the cable.
I think Visions are great for a number of reasons, such as strength, ability to alter the number of shelves if desired, roomy boxes, heat area adjustment capability,...
One thing, Visions are an open rack. If the room temp is at least in the low 70s then you are in great shape (for boa constrictors I mean.) If your room is 60 deg, then the boxes will need alot of heat cable underneath to make up for the heat loss out the sides, back, etc.
A friend has ball pythons in a Vision rack. He keeps the room heated to no lower than low 70s. In that environment the setup works great for his BP's. I will bet the same goes for your boas. Vision rack construction is simple, smart and easy to work with.

Over the years I have made my own racks and used a few commercial racks. Vision, AP, Boaphile, Natures Spirit, etc.
I'm currently using 4 AP racks and 1 Vision. The vision is the earlier model with CB70's and 10 individual heat pads, not the cable. I like the way it works in regards to the heating. However, it SUCKS when it comes to maintaining humidity. The plastic covers that sit over the boxes is ventilated, lots of little tiny holes. I'm going to cover those and see if it helps. Large water bowls go dry in a couple of days. I have to mist daily or every other day. Stuck sheds are becoming a problem as well. If covering the ventilation holes does not resolve the problem I plan on covering the left and right sides of the entire rack so it is less of an open air system.
No such problems with the AP racks. I use aspen in all the boxes as well as newspaper. Doesn't matter, the Vision is just too dry.
I have some Animal plastic racks and like them alot (nice people to deal with too!) I have their CB110 too and it's very nice but I wish they had something larger for my Black Milks.Any ideas?
