if this really happened yesterday the fool should be locked up.
high temps yesterday barely got into the 30's. big boids are illegal in new york. just total negative press idiocy all around on the keeper's part. there should be a sterilization process for this type of jackass.

Beautiful snake!

Clearly a complete idiot. How could he have managed to raise that snake without knowing it's both illegal and requires a warm ambient temperature? If he's such an attention whore, why wasn't he caught earlier?

I didn't know that snakes could visibly bruise.

I'm with Jeff.. How can you tell a snake is bruised? I've never heard of such a thing, any info is appreciated!

I think what they may have been referring to are sores that very large snakes can get if they have to lay in one spot constantly (like if the cage is too small). They look like blisters when they're full of liquid, or like bruises when they've been drained or after a shed.

The very tail end of the snake in the pic looks almost like it's got dents or something on it, so I assume those are the 'bruises'...

We got a foot of snow Monday, & it was about 25 degrees Tues. That snake had to be cold!

I saw this on the news last night. I too live on Long Island. it was about 30 out yesterday. I work outside all day and I was cold. I was glad to see it got taken away.
