rats chewing tubs?

Do rats chew through Doskocil Petmate litter tubs?

i have been using the petmate litterpans and have notice that the tighter the fit in relation to the top the harder it is for them to chew, but i also make my racks out of steel so there is no warping or sagging like wood tends to do, but rats can and will chew through just about anything over time

It depends on the rats.
If you got chewers, they will chew through ANYTHING.
If you keep them happy, they don't mind where they're at, and they're generically happy rats, they don't need to chew excessively.
But you will run into a few chewers. No sense in having a $5 breeder ruin an expensive setup by raising an army of chewers.

ihave 12 levels of rats in cement mixing tubs and have had 2 tubs chewed in the last 3.5 years.when this happened ALL the rodents were fed off.
