Turtle Tank - Mosquitoes

aimee1101 Aug 26, 2003 12:46 PM

Well, we left our window open one day, and now we seem to have mosquitoes in the turtle tank. I've put some extra salt in the water in hopes of killing any eggs ... How dangerous is this phenomenon, and what should I do to get rid of the buggies?

HELP!!?!

fish will eat the mosquito larvae. I used to keep buckets outside with water just to get a free food source for my fish. I know goldfish do, and most of the native species I catch. Its not uncommon for farmers to put fish in livestock tanks for this reason.

Thanks-
see there,
I usually give my turtle fish but I haven't had any lately,
little did I know they had been staving off the mosquito invasion. .....
cheers,
Aimee
