KWT Press: Young Kuwaiti breeds cobras

Jan 18, 2008 08:34 AM

ARAB TIMES (Kuwait) 12 January 08 Young Kuwaiti breeds cobras
Kuwait: Thirty-three-year-old Kuwaiti, Ayman Al-Khidir has a strange passion — he breeds cobras.
Speaking to Al-Anba daily, Ayman Al-Khidir — who has been aptly nicknamed Ayman Cobra by his friends and local animal breeders — said he has an outstanding collection of cobras which includes the smallest snake in the world and a very rare species of cobra. Ayman, who is the Chairman of Wild Life Team in Kuwait, said he breeds reptiles, especially snakes and displayed the smallest snake in the world measuring not more than 3cm.
“This tiny cobra is non-poisonous and lives in isolated places in houses and because of its small size, one needs a microscope to properly examine it,” he added.
Ayman’s other prized possession is a rare pink and yellow colored cobra which is known as ‘Albino.’
When asked about rumours that he drinks cobra poison, Ayman said, “yes, I do but I make sure that there are no cuts in my mouth.”
He also admitted that he has sustained many snake and scorpion bites “but luckily they all had weak poison.”

Someone needs to clue this guy in that drinking snake venom will do absolutely NOTHING to protect him from a snakebite.

I don't see that he even implied that. I think it's considered more of a virility thing, though I see no mention of why HE does it.

I'm more interested in the 3cm, non-venomous cobra. Whhhhhat...

I hope this boy makes it to 14. Where are his parents? It is unreal. It is more amazing that this is a news paper artilcle. Here it would be a front page child abuse artilcle. And as to his little 3cm cobra, I think it is clssified as Glans penisi. You don't want to excite it cause it will spit.

Yet a story of another idiot....but if you read the linked newpaper story in the Arab Times, the guy has already made it to 33 years of age.

I must have somehow missed the "3 cm non-venomous cobra" part! Hilarious!
