I have been hearing more and more that all you have to do is mist when they go blue?

We keep our snake rooms at 50% to 60% humidity. We don't mist our snakes, they rarely hang out in the water bowl and every now and then they will have a bad shed, but usually have full sheds.
We live in Colorado, land of no humidity. Before we got the humidifiers, we were constantly peeling snakes. I guess it depends on where you live. Humidity is a must for us.
