color change

gtrejo Jan 18, 2008 05:19 PM

I woke up this morning and noticed that my BD head was slightly darker from its original color, i walked out of the room for about 10 min. and when i returned his whole body had dramatically darken to a much more darker color. is that normal?? Does that mean that he is stressed? later on his color was normal again.

I believe this is normal. My beardie will color morph after he eats and when no one is in the room to a very bright orange. When I enter, he changes to a dark brown. Nothing to worry about, just one of the spectacles to enjoy about your dragon.

If he is lethargic mixed with dark coloration, then you might want to see a vet.

it also might mean hes trying to warm up.

Hi, beardeds will darken to absorb heat, once they reach their desired tempetature, they will turn light to reflect it. Josh
