question about cages and heating

xagernon Jan 18, 2008 09:40 PM

Hey guys I'm looking to get into Leo's, more for pets because they look like great geckos. But this will be my first attempt at keeping ground geckos. So I've got a few questions for you experts out there.

1. Vision cages Vs heated racks? Which of these is the better option? I'm thinking I like the look's of the Vision cages (without the use of those bulbs) and I've been told there are models of Vision Cages that have under tank heating, is this just a rumor?

2. Under tank heating VS acrylic (non light) bulbs. Which is the better option and what types do you guys recommend?

Well, I would say tubs over vision because of price.
Because of the above reason, I have no Idea if the visions have UTH lol.
I would prefer to use UTH, with leos belly heat aids in digestion much better.

Get a visionarium! Costs a bit less than a vision, made by same company, but made out of glass so you can see the gecko. Glass will conduct the heat from a heatpad just fine, while I've noticed the thick plastic in normal vision cages doesn't transmit the heat as well.
