Don't know of a book (I'm sure they are out there), but the caresheet here on KS is pretty good for a start:

I wrote an article that was published in the July 2007 issue of "Reptiles" magazine on Black Pine Snakes. Their breeding isn't all that different form most other popularly kept colubrids, though they do tend to have small clutches of large eggs.

as far as i know there is only one good book on the genus pituophis other than the crap from TFH that is OK for nice pictures fut the info sucks for the most part .
here the the bible of the pits .Variations&Relationships in the snakes of the Genus pituophis my Oliver Griffith Stull .
this book is not for the easy sit down and read in one day type of person no pretty pictures at all just facts and info. I have had this book for a few weeks now and still rereading it just to get it all .Hope this helps

Thank all of you for taking the time to respond. Much appreciated.

besides the usual articles and the tfh book by Mara, which is marginal,
there is also this cool book i picked up at a reptile show way back here is the info
"The Professional Keeper's Guide to Bullsnakes, Pine Snakes & Gopher Snakes- a guide to the snakes of the Genus Pituophis" by Kenneth Kelly, 1993
A Reptile News Publication.
It goes into EVERYTHING and has discriptions of all the morphs known. It does not have many pictures but is SOLID on info. This guy wanted to write a book that the Pit hobbyist could use NOW.
it is 60 pages.
hope this helps
