Breeding yearling males

When people say they have had western hognose males sire litters before they are one year old, have these males gone through a brumation, or have they been continually fed? Mark

At the end of thier first year they will be hibernated for at least a month. For instance:
Hognose male hatches in july. He is fed until may (through the winter) and then hibernated artificially until june.

This is how some breeders breed at this age.
