2-3 weeks ago Chip's acrylic casting material popped off so I took him over to the vet to see what she wants to do. She didn't want to do anything. She left him like this, it is really cool to see how he's changed.
He was dog chewed in 2005, I'll post the before & after pics right here.

That is amazing! Thanks for posting the pix. He's made terrific progress.

wow.
That is truly amazing.

Fess up, are those your hands?
HTH do you have time (with maintaining the hordes) to keep nails?
And with color.

The last time my nails were clean was...high school prom?
Forget maintaining color.

Oh, oops, turtle questions - I was wondering about the spot in the left bottom of the plastron(?)?.
it was an odd color.
Is that residual glueing material?

My Florida girl w/dog damage is doing great.
She had little damage compared to Chip, lucky cuz we have little in the way of herp vets here.

I will post new pix of her this week.
/p

Patsy, I do believe that this is residual epoxy. And ditto, haha, nice fingy nails.

Well, Ratz, it ain't pretty, but it sure is amazing to see how he has pulled through.

LOL yep they're my nails.. I've been blessed with thick hard nails that don't break very easily and so for years I've used all kinds of brands of 99 cent polish on them. What can I say?
I'm lucky that way so I don't spend a fortune on manicures, I've never had a professional one.
Anyway...
That dark spot on Chip is acrylic that hasn't popped off yet. Under that small bit were/are dog teeth marks. I'd bet they're healed too.
No it's not pretty but I think it's amazing that he not only lived through all this but he has grown new shell back in.
I had thought of letting him stay outside this year..but right now that white new growth seems kind of fragile. We'll see how it's looking this coming May, maybe he can stay out.

I adore my vet & she knows it. Chip is one lucky boy, we're all lucky that she & her vet husband decided to settle here.

I think though that I will order her some nice chelonian art work. I got some for my last birthday, I love it.
The guy's name is Roger Hall, he has a website- don't know the url off hand but I have found him with google before.
I got the limited edition color drawings of the ornate box, the western painted, the sulcata, & the TX horned lizard. I wanted it all for the purpose of hanging it in my animal room but when it got here & I framed it all.. I just could not hide it away in there or risk the aquarium water splashing on it.. so it's all hanging in my living room & dining room now lol.
My vet would love the sulcata so I may just get her that & frame it for her.

Chip impresses me too, he fought so hard to live then he made it!
