New Carpet

I just bought a "Diamond X Carpet Python" about 4 days ago, its about 5 months old. It is very nervous when I handle her, and bites whenever I touch the upper part of its body, its bit me about 15 times since I got her. Will it mellow out or stay agressive its whole life?

ALSO, since its ALWAYS on the branch, should I have a lamp on all the time?

Congrats on your new carpet!!Just give her time and she will mellow out.Just remember,she's a baby and scared.I have a 3 yr.old now about 1400g's and pushing 5 ft and she's tame asd mellow as can be.Also,If you've only had her for a short time,you will have to give her time to aclimate to her new surroundings.
