I read somewhere it was different than other lettuce (such as iceburg) and that it was just as good as greens, but i wanted to clear that up and ask some people personally. So is romane lettuce good?

it's ok- but not nearly the same as the collard, mustard, kale, etc...
i get a lot of picky eaters- espeically those that haven't had the right foods- so i mix in either romaine, red/green leaf WITH the collard/mustard/etc...-- kind of a compromise...
just like i give them 2-3 slices of banana or a strawberry at the bottom of thier bowl- they have to eat thier greens before they get the sweets...
i've never had a problem with this method- gets a lot of picky eaters- eating again!
I do about 25% romaine/red/green leaf and 75% actual leafy greens... Then the standard little bit of veggies and the sweets at the bottom...
just my method...

yeah he chows down romane either way haha, but i will for sure go and get some greens tomorow.
speaking of picky, he wont eat blueberries for some reason

Any lettuces are bad for your iggy. All lettuces lack the nutrients iguanas need. Sure it tastes good and your iggy will chow it down but your iggy may become a "lettuce junkie" and start rejecting the good greens he/she should be getting. Try to avoid feeding lettuces! Collards, dandelion greens, mustard greens are good choices, as well as some others.
