another chance!

I found another EBT to possibly adopt. She is right here in Michigan. I just emailed my application to the organization. this is what they said about her:

"She was originally turned into our vet with an infection in her front leg.....a cuterebra was removed from the wound and she's been through abx treatment. She was very underweight, so that's what we're working on right now - getting her back to eating well and keeping her hydrated with injectable fluids."

Would anyone care to interpret for me? What is a "cuterebra" and what is "abx treatment"? (I understand the "underweight" part! lol!)

Cuterebra is the type genus of a family of botflies (Order Diptera, Family Cuterebridae).

Thanks! I appreciate that!

I filled out the application, but haven't heard back from her (the rescue worker, not the turtle) yet!
