Hello John Lassiter!

Hi John,

I saw your post and just had to say hello. I know you haven't been around here since perhaps 2006, maybe? I don't post much lately, but you were always an important presence in this forum and I learned a lot from you over the years. I hope you are doing well.

I searched your name in the forum and read your post about the horrible heat episode you had in 2006 where you lost so many of your animals. My stomach dropped when I heard that. I can't imagine how horrible that must have been for you. I hope you get back into thayeri because you have so much to contribute to the hobby and to this forum. I for one, miss you.

Since 2006, I have moved to Alaska and I have the opposite temperature problems. I brumate my adults in a temp-controlled garage, but I am always paranoid about the cold weather here. I recently got a generator for back up and I sleep a
lot better now. I'm just outside of Anchorage, but it does get cold in the winter.

This was taken last weekend when it was minus 20 out. I was doing about 90 mph past the camera and I can't wait to try to go faster.

All The Best,

-----

Hi Maria,

Those sure are some kind words. And you are right it has been a long time since I have contributed here on the forum. My goal is to begin building a breeding stock back up starting this February. I am going to concentrate on Mexicana only....NO more Pits, Boids or Hondos. I will probably continue to work with locale snakes such as holbrooki and anulata though.

Anyway....Nice to hear from you.

I'm glad you are well, and good luck building back up your thayeri collection this year and aquiring new animals. I wish you all the best.
