Refridgeration and gut loading Q

jpf18 Jan 21, 2008 09:43 PM

I've googled and looked on the forums numerous times but could never find a clear cut answer to this question. When I buy mealworms am I A) supposed to set aside (outside the fridge) a container and put my gut load in it, then put the rest of the meal worms in the fridge or B) move all the meal worms into the gut load and put that into the fridge?

honestly what I do is get the worms home and then sift through their substrate, dumping deads and the substrate as I go- I leave all the worms in a Tupperware and mix in about a cup of oatmeal and put 2 slices of potato and a hunk of carrot . I change the potatoes daily but I'm going through about 50 worms a week between all of my leo's ... So I know everyone is gut-loaded all the time.

I also don't refrigerate them at all. . . unless im bulk buying.
