That's a neat looking Honduran. Very diffrent looking.
I like it too.

-Dell

I have this male that I like. He is an 05 and has been a picky eater at best. But in the last 6 months has started to eat everything put in front of him. Nearly took my finger off the other day. God bless him.

Who's stock does it originate from? Either way, great snake! I'll have to snag some pics of my hondos... especially the aberrant ones now!

Chris

terryd Jan 22, 2008 11:30 AM

Chris,
The parents are het. for hypo. pair of tangeringes that have not ever put out a hypo., but have dropped two aberrants in three clutches. They came from John Moore in AZ, and that's all the history I have on them.

Chris, if you have some aberrants I'd love to see em.

-Dell

Here is the happy couple.

First off nice lookin' hondos -- really have always enjoyed the 'classic' red animals... I'll snag some shots tomorrow and get them up... Chris

tspuckler Jan 22, 2008 04:18 PM

Thanks Terry,

That's a really nice one that you posted too.
I think there's still a heck of a lot that can still be done with selective breeding of Honduran Milks.

Well, my "most unique" milk has to be a new '07 male Pueblan. There is a lot of variety in his bands as well as blotches of apricot tint and black spots. He's got two future girlfriends, from Shannon Brown.

Hands down my '07 Andean female. Great pattern, awesome eater, and calm. Besides, it's the biggest snake I have right now that isn't brumating.

I don't think I could pick the single nicest looking one... but, this is a unique one (although I've posted this pic before):

Spotted Black Hills (Pennington Co.), SD multistrata

You can keep posting that one as often as you'd like -- I never get tired of looking @ that spotted Pennington!

That's a really nice looking snake, Cole. I like that one a lot myself!

To hard to pick just one, but I really like this big saddled male and the yellow he holds through out his whole body. Not a typical Bighorn animal.

Bighorn co. multistrata

Sunherp Jan 22, 2008 10:25 AM

the zig-zag pattern on the anterior portion of that animal's body. It's unusual for multistrata in general, and especially for a Bighorn Co., Montana animal.

Can't really pic a fave but this orange male syspila is beyond belief. He's with a normal syspila from the same locality here in one pic and produced his first offspring last year when paired to his orange girlfriend.

Nice milks everyone! Good topic Zach!
Jeff

specialkay Jan 22, 2008 06:25 PM

Sweet snake. Thats about as nice as the hypo coastals IMO. When paired up with the orange female what did they throw off, and to you hold them back?

Jeff Hardwick Jan 22, 2008 07:38 PM

It's no surprise I suppose that the offspring are various shades of orange to brick red and very clean. Here's one of 1.3 that I've held on to. I haven't seen any "orange" hatchlings but maybe they'll change with time...we'll see.

I have to say this het hypo female ... I don't think enough can be said about a good quality "normal" honduran. Not to mention the screaming hypos this girl can produce too!

Sweet looking hondo. I too think a real nice normal tricolor (or hypo tricolot) is an awesome thing. Kinda looks like one from Jaap's line....

I just noticed now but you must recognize my photo from your webpage! Once I have a decent photo of an animal its hard for me to take another.

Vinny -> I have sent out your link a few times whenever I get questions about hondurans habitat ... everyone is amazed at the content. I have to say it is very in depth and you did a very good job on it. If you don't mind I may put a direct link to your site for the time being.

Thanks for the compliments, I really tried to cover all the good info. Put links where ever you want!

Best,

this Jefferson County syspila......

I agree, good topic Zach. Given my low number of milks, it was easy. But for some must be quite daunting to pick just one.

I don't have any one favorite, just a bunch I'd never let go of! This female is one of my favorites due to her looks and all the hard work that's gone into getting her up to breeding size. Seems like the best looking snakes can sometimes be the pickiest feeders!

with the damn flu right now, I couldn't miss out on this thread. Good question, but there are just way too many favorites to pick just one. Each has its own element of sentimental value. But, if I had to choose just one........

Awesome snake.
